Background & Experience
Kevin F. Kenny is an accomplished leader in the commercial real estate industry and is the Founder and President of NAI Lexington Commercial, LLC (a commercial real estate brokerage). He also holds the title of Vice President with Lexington Partners, LLC (Real Estate Development) and is Vice President of Business Development for Innoconn Construction Management. Kevin has 15 years of dedicated experience in real estate development, brokerage, and construction management, specializing in new business development, acquisitions, investor relations, and owners project management.
Kevin started his career with Gilbane Building Company in Providence, RI working in their Business Development Department. In his years at Gilbane he was part of the team that won projects such as The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and the total renovation of the iconic Providence, RI Library to name a few. He then moved to New York City to work in a similar capacity with a prominent sub-contractor where he was involved in many large-scale construction projects such as: Long Island City’s Paragon Oil Building, New York City’s 580 Park Ave Renovation, The Tammany Hall Renovation, The 2 Astor Place Renovation, and many more. Much of his work focused on historic renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. This led to an invitation by the American Institute of Architects for him to teach an AIA course titled: “Exterior Façade as it relates to The New York City Landmark Preservation Commission.”
Kevin moved back to Connecticut to join Lexington Partners, LLC in January of 2020. He honed his skills under his father Martin J. Kenny, legendary multi-family developer and expert in historic adaptive reuse projects. He worked with his father on many well know developments such as: The Borden Wethersfield, Sage Allen Apartments, 99 Pratt St., One Park West Hartford and 196 Trumbull St. He has played a significant role sourcing off market deals that led to the acquisition of over 2,000 apartment units along the eastern seaboard. Kevin has helped to build a $200M+ backlog of third-party work for their construction company Innoconn, while working to develop new real estate endeavors with Lexington Partners. Kevin founded NAI Lexington Commercial because of the unprecedented success he had in filling vacant retail space in downtown Hartford, CT during the latest Covid-19 Pandemic. His focus has shifted to working with his experienced team to grow the brokerage which now has locations in Hartford and New Haven, CT.
Internally Kevin is referred to as the CFO (Chief Fun Officer) for his unique ability to team-build and keep the work environment fun and exciting. Kevin is a cum laude graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI and is a board member of the Real Estate Finance Association of CT.
